@tursilion@furries.club others mentioned those toys as well. Maybe just reversing the motor for a short period. And/or a pivot wheel that goes straight when being dragged and rotates when being the front wheel

@VoltPaperScissors@chaos.social Nah, there was definitely no reversing, and they were always driving from the front. I suspect some kind of loose clutch that engages when the wheels experience increased force and spins the direction wheel. One would think I could have looked it up by now. :)
