@quinn@social.circl.lu @KentNavalesi@mstdn.social As a Brit, one thing I notice about some US culture stuff is this "I am an individual who achieved everything I have All By Myself therefore we should help no one else who is less-advantaged, cos they just need to try harder". Hence the YouTube Landscaper (who could be exploitative in his own way for clicks) often having cases where someone is elderly, or has a very sick relative in hospital as well as the HOAs who have vested developer interests to steal property etc.
