@gknauss@mastodon.social To say why a little more clearly: $1Tn is markedly more $ than it would cost to buy the entire agricultural output of the United States in a year (est $624bn in 2024, wholesale). One person obviously doesn't care to eat all that, and it means the mechanisms for determining how we spend our inputs (labor and natural resource) are becoming warped on the demand side. Money wants rocketships instead of food... and so that is what we as a society spend our inputs on. Potentially creating effective poverty - worse living conditions due to decreasing supply, due to warped demand.
