Back in '96 they made a pet game with an actual neural network, biochemistry and haploid genetics, all local and real-time. Why is no one making a modern version of this? Especially considering current hardware capabilities.

@lauseta I'm working on it, albeit slowly. I'm sure there's others. For example, you can find research papers on conversational NPCs using LLMs. I think and hope we'll see these sorts of projects crop up very soon.
