Yup, I somehow managed to realise you have to place the cap to the side more or less straight away. It's a non-issue from that point on.

While I never found these new caps a nuissance, some people have valid reasons to find them annoying. I just like how I'll never accidentally drop a cap again. I have no complaints, other people do have different experiences. However, the best way to avoid plastic waste is by not producing plastics.
