@sigkill@mastodon.social @b0rk@social.jvns.ca @ripienaar@devco.social yeah, easy to verify and/or low stakes are the cases where I’m finding it works to apply it, which I’m unfortunately being required to do as well. That’s sort of where I’m expecting we’ll settle out in 5 years once the hype drops off. It’ll be useful for some things, not others, we’ll figure it out. In the mean time, if you still want to search for web pages like a normal person, Kagi is great, cannot recommend enough

@kaced@infosec.exchange it's super interesting to hear Kagi is working well for you, I've been using it for a year and I find especially its local search is incredibly bad, like I'll search for a restaurant and it'll be literally impossible to find the restaurant's website in the Kagi search results, like it won't appear anywhere in the first 2 pages of results. More and more I find myself just going to Google because I can't find stuff with Kagi which is disappointing

@kaced@infosec.exchange @b0rk@social.jvns.ca @ripienaar@devco.social I think we can’t really say that this is going to be a steady state in 5 years. Well, I have no reason to believe that it will. And I think a lot of people here specifically are asleep at the wheel and do their future selves a disservice not keeping a finger on the pulse.

@kaced@infosec.exchange @sigkill@mastodon.social @b0rk@social.jvns.ca @ripienaar@devco.social My opinion is that good documentation, samples and project templates cover the vast majority of low-stakes ground I’d even consider letting an LLM anywhere near, and we should be investing in those sorts of things instead.
