My favourite part of this fictional subgenre is where we talk about jobs as though companies create them all rationally and that kind of thing, it's all part of a well oiled machine where the exact right number of people are employed to deliver the business objectives efficiently etc etc

@sue@glasgow.social It always seems strange that if a senior person in a company orders four hundred tons of something they turn out to not need there would be a reckoning but doing the same with humans has no comeuppance
