@strk@mapstodon.space @Shadowfetch@indieweb.social Sure, but in practice, maintenance usually goes beyond the legal minimum, which as you point out is “nothing at all”. It’s a common expectation that a certain amount of software maintenance takes place. Authors/maintainers often have such expectations of themselves. Users and contributors often expect it, too. Being explicit about your intentions can help avoid disappointing others, as well as yourself.
