However, Reform councils have not shied away from "politically divisive" actions that have little direct, practical utility. For example, from your point of view I assume Union Jack flag raising is just like Pride: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz68d284dvyo . Therefore, I don't think Reform dislikes such actions generally so be careful not to attribute that (false) stance to them. In my opinion, Pride can also be a cultural event and a celebration, making it understandable as arts funding... though I know that may be controversial. And of course it also improves the livelihoods, visibility and inclusion of people who are still often bullied in all manner of ways, or struggle to fit in to mainstream society. It has a lot of direct utility, just not in the most visible way.
