Look, nobody here is saying that Iran isn't a bloody terror regime. But please don't try to defend the US. That makes no justice for their uncountable victims all over the world.
The power system in the US just works differently. Domestically, the government doesn't need so much brutal, obvious violence (although there is quite an amount) as the Iranian regime to keep power. An important part of the mechanism to keep population in line is a sophisticated machinery of propaganda, combined with consumerism obtained through the exploitation of nature and humans all over the world.
Also, I hope we can agree at least on the fact that the current ruling class in the US is not motivated by humanisitc values and surprisingly successful in dismantling the institutions and power controls their political system had.

@MirSobhan@persadon.com @rooneymcnibnug@mastodon.social Also, you talk here with a crowd that supports the Iranian people. Not like our hypocrite governments that do business with your slaughterers as soon as they can, while rejecting asylum claims from the people oppressed by the IRGC regime. So again: please don't take our criticism of the US and other Western 'democracies' as support for your regime. The US doesn't want freesom for the people of Iran. If they can reinstall a puppet regime friendly to their interests in the region, they won't give a shit about human rights in Iran. 100% geopolitics, 0% humanity.
