@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us That's because it's not an ideology, it's a business venture. Of course it feels American, they've been exporting their destructive, corrupt, preformative neoliberal extraction everywhere. The UK has been a client state of the US since WWII, so that's not at all surprising.
