Saturday... I had a hangover. Oops. Well, I took care of that. But for the rest of that day. I dedicated my time to project work. Of course, there's my time developing the Release Build Environment for FreeDOS. And I have become sentient enough to understand that it's a congealed mess. So, I have started work on ̶t̶u̶r̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶s̶s̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶c̶o̶d̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶ ̶c̶r̶e̶a̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶p̶a̶i̶n̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶b̶y̶ ̶s̶p̶r̶e̶a̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶l̶e̶ ̶d̶a̶m̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶g̶e̶r̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶i̶e̶r̶ ̶m̶e̶s̶s̶ adopting the unix philosophy of segmenting things into more basic components, which individually do a single thing incredibly well, and are designed to be used together with other things to make a more complex, rich, and dynamic project. So that's what I set off to do. I am starting off on that by making a single repository that focuses entirely on the software that gets used for FreeDOS. It has a ci-cd that keeps that software up to date daily, adds new submodules that get added to FreeDOS, and prunes old submodules that no longer exist. That's it. That's all it does. Here's that repository: https://gitlab.com/ilobmirt/FreeDOS_project_assembly The next few projects that I wish to build: * Something that makes a directory holding a customized FreeDOS file tree * Something that takes a file tree directory and turns it into a live disk image * Something that hosts a web service to all of this * I somehow roll all this back up into another single project that can be run locally or as a container service And I have obsessed over FreeDOS RBEv4 why? Because the hell am I going to want to do future DOS software development in DOS-Box and not a full-fledged FreeDOS container for CI-CD that leverages: * qemu for full virtualization * libvirt for interface customization * vncdotool for testing out things that require user interaction or a GUI RBEv4 is just a stepping stone to a dynamic FreeDOS container for dedicated CI-CD and General Purpose personal use and I think that is friggin cool. :floofCool: I just have to...get there :floofCry: ----- Oh yeah, and sides that, I have also spent my time making Satisfactory videos that look like they came out of a Sony Handycam. I probably could do better with being a more entertaining commentator for these things, but feel free to check all the videos out here : https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2gzbSBMKBk-PE2iqWyTSykkeCwFpFaeb&si=34fJU5HaVeqmIwtE
