I worked with her personally at ANE and they always were good company. They were a kind and generous soul known for their love of chainmail and being a part in their local Boston community. I know the people who were more directly affected by her loss. It has really hit a nerve in me. Her loss reminds me that this society is a machine built by facists who would be happy to see us queers piss off straight to hell. They built the machine of a society that has brought us nothing but pain and suffering and this cruelty is by design. The gears of this violence are not shown but can be felt by each and every story of every murder, suicide, or arrest. I know I'm lowkey depressed, the days are starting to blur into one another for me, and I feel always exhausted, but I understand that's by design. Fucking off into the sunset is exactly how the bastards win. I know I promised I'd grind to more immediately make local politics one ounce better in the next two months, but I think the message of this story is that we also need to be more visible if at least to show those hateful fuckers that their vile sensibilities are not going to shut us up and that we queers are going to be here tomorrow and the day after. We will thrive again and come together to be a strong community. Our love and hope will break their machine.
