@madcuzbad@nicecrew.digital @SuperLutheran@poa.st the frustrating things about this, and the debate and rhetoric being thrown around is that conservatives absolutely gave them the win in rhetoric. leftists use this hedonistic worldview where suffering is objectively evil, and a life that probably has more suffering is a life not worth living. Conservatives actually ACCEPT that worldview as valid. meanwhile Christians can acknowledge that 1. Suffering is not inherently evil, there is suffering all over, true it's not good either and we probably want to minimize it, but definetly the suffering is not a reason to have a life snuffed out. and 2. it is not our place to judge, we don't get to decide who gets to live and who doesn't, they place this hedonistic worldview as the status quo and they were just allowed to play this garbage rhetoric for the longest time.
