@jackdaniel@functional.cafe Yes, this is fast. But most people won't see it, because they are in the grip of the myth that "Lisp is slow". You get the most mileage by comparing against things people think are fast, at least for certain tasks, like C or Fortran. For a venerable example of the art of making that comparison, Steele had a number of biting comparisons between MacLISP and Fortran back in the day.
