@adrake@sfba.social Yeah it's because you're not phrasing it correctly :) We're not talking about "you shouldn't make any effort to make your presentation more appealing to your audience". You conflate your opinion on what that would entail with everyone else thinking the same. Try this: Do you think an author can write a book _everyone_ likes? If it takes one year to write a book 80% of the intended audience likes, how much more time would you say is worth spending on it to make that number 85%?
