@malwaretech Living in Glasgow (as an Australian), I agree with this. My salary dropped by a third, but my cost of living barely changed. Groceries etc. were the same price, if not more, and the quality was shit by comparison. Visiting London was an even bigger divide - 2 glasses of wine at a bar cost the same as a bottle. Add in the weather, which lead to colleagues just going to the pub every night after work, and it's really not a surprise!
