@sfierbaugh@home.social @davew@mastodon.social @mike@flipboard.social since DNS works hierarchically the protocol probably won’t work well in a conceptual web. You can have alternative roots, but that’s just more hierarchies, not a true web. DNS labels don’t really cost anything, although registering labels in a TLD does in many cases. If you don’t strictly need a particular TLD for your purposes, it’s trivial to get a domain name for free or very little cost.
