so i finally got my t shot last week after it being two months overdue bc my gp is convinced that the testosterone is making my hematocrit ( red blood cells ) is too high. i personally felt like there was something else going on with my blood because some of my other levels were funky as well but whatever, she was convinced it was the t so i had no choice but to wait until she deemed me allowed to do the shot. so anyway i go in last week to finally get my shot with a nurse, the drop-in doctor for that day comes in to check that everything is going smoothly.
he takes one look at my levels and says that i need a venesection asap and he gave me a form to get tested for hemochromatosis, which is a genetic disorder where the body absorbs and stores too much iron and in turn causes a bunch of other issues. he also confirmed my theory that the t is NOT responsible for my hematocrit being too high. i'm going in for the venesection this afternoon and i'm waiting for the results of the blood test but honestly all of the symptoms and weird shit my body has been doing line up perfectly so i'm pretty sure that it will be positive.
in terms of genetic disorders, it's a pretty easy to treat with regular blood tests and venesection as necessary. i have always been such a sleepy and achy person and i’m incredibly curious how much of my pain and fatigue is because of this. all in all, i feel very validated tbh.

they were only able to get about 150ml of blood out because i got really nauseous and lightheaded and had to stop, hopefully next time will go a bit better
