@Juankprada@mstdn.jp I'm under the impression that artists don't earn much. And having kids doesn't allow for much flexibility. If you really really are fed up with programming, I think that you should work to reduce your expenses to absolute minimum first and check what is lowest amount of money you need to make, this will give you better insight on what is possible and what is not.
When changing job you usually search for better offer first and resign from your current one later. I'm not sure how to translate it to working as artist, tho.

@aelspire@aelspire.info I am aware which is why making this decision is a lot harder. I actually changed jobs a month ago to a better paying one, hoping to get a fresh view of the industry but everywhere is the same. I’m tired of that. So I’ll have to find a way to make it work. It will definitely have to be tied to both sales and patronage as it’s the only viable way for artists this days.
