I started out with BASIC using coding sheets. We had to send them by post then got the punched cards and the results from the first run about a week later.

@TheLancashireman@hostux.social @BenAveling@infosec.exchange @Janeishly@mastodonapp.uk My first contact with programming was in school in the late 1970s, HP-BASIC on a computer with a one line LED-Display and a card reader where You "punched" cards with a soft pencil.
