It is bizarre to see a presumably serious article repeatedly use the term “jab” for a medical procedure. It’s an antivaxxer trope and really doesn’t belong anywhere near a scientific discussion

It’s an antivaxxer trope In the US, sure, but in the UK, it’s been the main “jocular yet not unprofessional” term for decades, with neither negative nor positive connotations. Just like how the majority of their biggest tabloid headlines are puns. British journalists are just built different for better and for worse 🤷🏻
