Usually, I needed it for something more complex, and the usage pattern of: "do arithmetic - take calculator" was a mental scheme. And I have realised that I've just typed something like "23 + 15", and then I thought "Wait, why I even use calculator for that? I AM capable of doing that operation in memory." Since then I've decided to do arithmetic in my head whenever possible. I've shared this with my then school friend, and we become partners in crime, challenging each other. Mostly it was trying to calculate two three-digits numbers (sometimes with decimal point). Or calculating 10! while being on timer. But, yeah, in the past I had a dozen of number to friends and family in my memory. Now I can barely remember my own phone number 😅
