This past weekend was a hard one. My family and I spent a lot of time crying as we grieved the death of Cosmo. He was such beloved little companion who spent every possible moment at my side. It is heartbreaking to lose him so soon. And so I hope that C.S. Lewis‘ vision of our beloved animal companions is right: “Every beast and bird that came near [us] had its place in [our] love. In [us] they became themselves. And now the abundance of life [we have] in Christ from the Father flows over into them.” (from: “The Great Divorce”)
