I struck out with giant red mustards this spring. They are my favorite salad green, marketed as “heat-tolerant”—and maybe they are compared to other brassicas, but come June, it’s a no-go. I started them too late in the season and the seedlings are getting massacred by pests.
I’m moving on to arugula and perpetual chard for the summer. I’ll put giant red mustards at the top off my fall planting list. #gardening
