@PeachMcD@union.place @futurebird@sauropods.win @ngaylinn@tech.lgbt A Veritasium Youtube video about a month ago showed how modern life, in increasing the number of "distant friends" or strangers any of us regularly encounter (via travel, communications, social media, etc), has undermined effectiveness of previously dominant positive, altruistic, or "tit-for-tat" social strategies which rely on repeated encounters. Hence folks lean more towards selfish interaction, or simply don't care what others think, because it works for them.
