Had a UPS battery go bad last week, and I found out this morning (when my wife needed that computer) that I hadn't actually plugged everything back in after removing it. That's all fixed, but now it's been update after update after update after update after update* after update after update. Not kidding. In order: app store, NextCloud, app store again somehow, Microsoft Office Auto Updater (failed), manual Microsoft Office updates (*3 I had to do separately), MacOS, and OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Between Microsoft's failing delta updater and how slow the MacOS update was, I've been at this for more than two hours. In the same amount of time I've done a full version upgrade on my OPNsense firewall, updated all the apps on my TrueNAS box, upgraded FreeBSD packages on my remote VPS, and done a Linux Mint dot release update that required a reboot on this old MacBook Pro. I'm not going to be one of those Switch To Linux reply guys, but I can't help but notice how much more smoothly things went on everything that wasn't the Mac.
