Creating custom footprints in #KiCad can feel a bit painful the first time, but it really doesn’t have to be. In Part 1 of our first tutorial series, we walk through how to set up a custom footprint from scratch. Tomorrow, Part 2 goes live where we set up and place the pads properly. On Friday, Part 3 drops where we draw the outline, add the courtyard, and finish off the markings. Did you already know the trick to open the datasheet by clicking "D"?
