@ArchaeoIain@archaeo.social I’m not taking sides here. It’s just that I’ve noticed that activists on both sides of the spectrum talk about safety when they are ascendant, and about freedom of speech when they aren’t. The hypocrisy is bipartisan (in American terminology) and either unconscious or shameless.

@inti@archaeo.social good point. My attitude spells from being there in the 1960s. And as an archaeologist, I am sure you understand processes of colonisation which are both about force of arms and about language.
