I made risers yesterday to put under storage containers. I was measuring out 14 inch sections across a 2ftx4ftx8ft board (marks at 14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84). my brother was watching me. he says "your cuts are going to be off from the width of the blade". I turned to him and said "i'm a framer not a cabinet maker. "14" (did air quotes with my fingers) is close enough. i'm not making the Sistine chapel."
