@mxenbionix@mastodon.social Absolutely, people need to be treated in a way that makes them feel safe in order for them to open up and explore gender, or be willing to accept themselves if they have internalized transphobia. I agree that non-binary definitely fits under the umbrella of trans, I do know that not all non-binary people identify as transgender and they're valid too. @navi@catcatnya.com @pomagarnet@chaos.social @kde@floss.social

@mxenbionix@mastodon.social Just a point of clarification, when I say that people are calling me an egg and insisting that I'm trans sometimes it's not always clear how. They're not usually saying that I'm non-binary and under the trans umbrella. They're saying that I'm a trans girl. Often egging of the aggressive nature that I mentioned doesn't acknowledge NonBinary at all. When it does get brought up to them, the reactions are mixed, and sometimes negative or dismissive (i.e. "Suuuure you're'NonBinary'" or "!remindme 3 years"). Also I have been told point blank not to tell questioning people about non-binary identities because they'll "want to be non-binary cuz they think it's cool" which... Uh... Yeah... 😒 @navi@catcatnya.com @pomagarnet@chaos.social @kde@floss.social
