I think “mutual aid” is an established expression as well. Some groups use that term when raising money. Something similar to a GoFundMe I guess. And there’s several communities named this way on the Fediverse. I think it’d prefer the term “community organizing” for what you lined out. I’ve tried Flohmarkt and Mobilizon. They’re awesome. Sadly we’re always faced with the same issue… there’s not a lot of people on those platforms.

True about the empty room problem. That is a problem with the fediverse in general with new features, which is why I think it is better to try to integrate these features with existing platforms, or to consider building new platforms that are additive with regard to features, rather than isolated. A classified ad site for the fediverse is nice. A site that lets you post microblogs and classified ad posts would be even better. One that allows all of that plus private groups and events would be even better still. It seems platforms are relatively resistant to adding new features and prefer to stay isolated as individual feature platforms, which is a losing strategy imo.

Maybe we could have discussion on these new softwares ?? I had joined Mastodon and lemmy last year. Had no clue how they worked, and got banned from instances. I’m new on piefed, and enjoying the features immensely. It’s true, these are not very popular. I had created accounts on friendica and peertube as well. I don’t use them much. I don’t like mbin too much either, but l use it.
