Yeah, a necrotic hernia would have got me at 16, or if I survived that then a burst appendix would take me out in my early 50s. Plenty of other infections along the way, too.
Yay for antibiotics.

@nick_appleyard@mastodonapp.uk Spending a day in hospital with my arm strapped to a board so that young me did not pull out the IV was not fun. But it was far better than the alternative.
