@iobear@mstdn.dk @hetisniels@mastodon.social @jellyfin@mastodon.online Our approach was we registered a trademark, and apple/companies respects trademark violations. That doesn't stop them from publishing the apps with a different name, but you wont get users with a random name. And those who do won't confuse the app with NewPipe.
