@major@fosstodon.org So true. I used to work with people who could tell the speed of the connection by the buzzing and screeches. I kinda miss that.

@ScruffyJunco@home.social I used to be able to tell the difference between 14k4, 33k6 and 56k modem connections... many 56k modems didn't let you hear the sound anymore though. I thought that was a loss, I liked the sound of screaming robots... @major@fosstodon.org
