@chickenhat@mstdn.social oh, I've never used the app, sorry. But if you open a toot in android chrome or Firefox, you can long-press images to see a contextmenu with the start of the alt text at the top. Tap that text and it expands to show all the alt text.
Except in Firefox you first have to tap the photo so it's in the popup thingy, not the smaller version in the toot.
