@denschub@mastodon.schub.social My main worry is that real developers will end up having to clean up all the slop .. at which point you might as well also "start from scratch" .. *sigh*

@dreamer@mastodon.world projects like the one I'm talking about are just scrap. they'll never reach production-quality. if they get used in production, it'll end like all those SaaS companies on reddit where they explode after two weeks after someone exposed their unauthenticated firebase API with full access. companies who use GenAI to write critical code will learn the hard way. all the money they're saving right now (if they save money at all, GenAI isn't cheap, after all), will just be burned into hiring 3x the amount of developers just to fix the nonsense in the future. that will be a fun time for a lot of us, especially freelancers who specialize on fixing other people's messes. but luckily I'm "just a hater", I'm sure it'll all be fine and GenAI will never fail anyone.
