After spending the last week at home sick with a flu-like illness that started with a terrible sore throat, I wish I would have read this a week ago because I'm curious to try it and see how it compares to other home remedies for sore throat relief. Ah well, next time (which hopefully is far in the future).

> The first marshmallows were prepared by boiling pieces of root pulp with honey until thick. Once thickened, the mixture was strained, cooled, then used as intended.[4][5][6] ["How Marshmallows are Made" | Madehow](http://www.madehow.com/Volume-3/Marshmallow.html) ["Marshmallows" | National Confectioners Association](https://web.archive.org/web/20161213105105/http://www.candyusa.com/candy-types/676/) [The Oxford Companion to Sugar and Sweets | Oxford University Press](https://doi.org/10.1093%2Facref%2F9780199313396.001.0001) It is truly astounding how many people will blindly listen to a lemmy comment instead of clicking on a link. But please, go on about how you're more of an expert on this subject than Oxford University lol
