@steffo@junimo.party @Mer__edith@mastodon.world @edri@eupolicy.social @echo_pbreyer@digitalcourage.social Unfortunately it is a little complicated due to the EU Legislation process. First things first there are 3 Parties • The Commission - Proposed the initial very bad law • The Parliament - already reached a position • The Council (were all EU Member States are represented) - Haven’t reached an agreement yet Summary: We are pretty far in the legeslative process, it depends on the council. @steffo@junimo.party @edri@eupolicy.social @khaleesicodes@eupolicy.social @Mer__edith@mastodon.world We managed to convince all groups to support a European Parliament position that excludes #ChatControl and protects encryption. But when it comes to allowing industry to snoop voluntarily (#ChatControl 1.0), Parliament is divided. Check out this vote on it: https://mepwatch.eu/9/vote.html?v=167712
