As for more graphics effects - our priority is unlocking more capabilities for game developers. For example, it would be great to see a materials API. This would allow game and mod developers greater control over how their worlds look https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/8854

@f4grx@chaos.social Lua mods currently can't add new effects, but you can always make engine mods. For example, there was an engine mod for screen space reflections a while back https://github.com/GreenXenith/minetest/tree/bfs_ssr
