@leftpaddotpy@hachyderm.io out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say that people can't choose the things that they see? i'm not sure what the "normal" way to use fedi is, but i only really look at my home feed, so i only see stuff from people i follow. i mostly follow personal friends, and sometimes they boost other interesting people into my feed who i decide to follow. if i consistently dislike someone's posts, i just unfollow them.

  • @mra@mathstodon.xyz @leftpaddotpy@hachyderm.io also filters. It would be neat to have some temporary or post level controls on a few things. Like the ability limit post/reply reach. Sometimes a post will be boosted and then you have a ton of people engaging. Would be nice to lock or disable either temporarily or permanently in that instance. But I have a feeling people try to apply the mental modal of other social networks to mastodon. For me I don't care about having a large following or audience. If people follow me then great! But it really isn't a mass communication tool like Twitter was.
