@Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net As much as I like using software made in the EU, I noticed ProtonVPN in a negative way. Websites thought I was in Israel. Dnsleaktest.com confirmed my suspicions. It was connecting to servers in Germany that didn't belong to Proton, but to external companies with connections outside the EU... Absolute NOGO

@thelastnoc@mastodon.social @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net as far as i understand, free version of ProtonVPN used by Vivaldi is "randomly" selecting one of the few free VPN servers. unfortunately you cannot influence what country is selected. by if you are lucky if you try after some time later on, maybe a different one will be free. of course, you can always switch to paid version that allows you to select the region.
