Finally got the email from Amazon that they'll be pulling support for my 1st Gen Kindle Touch (which still works) along with a voucher to buy another one. Thing is, I'm already loving my new Kobo. I didn't think being able to see covers in colour would be a big deal, but it's great! And being able to check out books from the library right on the device? Fantastic. Honestly I don't know why I stayed with Kindle so long. Thanks for giving me the push, Amazon.
