@slightlyoff@toot.cafe @polotek@social.polotek.net @agocke@hachyderm.io I think it can bring benefits even in small teams, but you're right it takes a high level of proficiency to get the gains at that scale. I am thankful to be working with a team with as small a stack as we can muster (similarly TS+Lit) and am looking forward to keeping it that way. Frameworkless web dev is a thing, and it's amazing the complexity of apps you can build and the speed at which you can build them when you work close to the platform with a skilled team.

@bendelarre@mastodon.social @polotek@social.polotek.net @agocke@hachyderm.io Yeah, the teams that pick TS and not much else are the ones I have to worry about least. It's an interesting alignment!

Frameworks, add-ons and plug-ins might seem plug-and-play to some but being in the business for a while teaches one that maintenance will get out of hand very quickly when you have to keep track of external dependencies and updating all of them. Not to mention the time and effort it takes to debug other peoples code. Stick with the bare minimum and write your own code.
