I'm curious about the viability of just setting up an activitypub server.
I think Calligrafae, that might be a misunderstanding. Surf is a client that implements ActivityPub, ATProto and RSS.
You have to login with your fediverse and bluesky account in order to receive feeds I think.

also with mastodon especially, every mastodon account is also an rss feed which anyone can follow without notification.

Is it also an ActivityPub server in its own right? is it subscribed to a fediverse relay? These are details I do not have. @surf@flipboard.social any comments?
