The mindset of genocidal leadership has, as its first priority the establishment of "facts on the ground". It is a "ends justify the means" argument.
The idea is that once something is in your possession, the rightness or wrongness of how you got it is less significant. Possession, or facts on the ground, is taken to be a sort of anchor of reality.
How to deal with this murderous, genocidal, way of thinking? How to deal with ideologies in which only the ends matter, regardless of the means employed?
I think we need a counter-balancing dynamic in our own thinking. In my view, the genociders should, right now, be condemned, and absolutely so.
We need to be clear with ourselves that we will not put this issue down until the genociders are behind bars, and nothing less.
We need to get clear on this, now. We need to lock it in, and make this resolution, itself, a fact on the ground.
