@funcrunch@me.dm @kalfatermann@mastodon.social I was amused at the indignation of the one person who was quoted, about this place not carrying the books of people who don’t align with their politics. Um… there’s zero obligation for a store owner to carry anything they don’t want to, for whatever reason they see fit. Maybe they also don’t want to carry Neil Gaiman books after the accusations of sexual misconduct from several women. Maybe they also don’t want to carry Orson Scott Card books after he was revealed as homophobic. What makes them obliged to carry any specific books at all? And the ‘I’ll shop elsewhere’ snipe at the end? Psst! If you want any books that aren’t being carried here, then yes, by definition, you will shop somewhere else. But thanks for the needless flourish as you see yourself out. 👍🙄
