The latest industry hit by #enshittification is font foundries. This may be common knowledge out there, but I just found out about it today. Case study: Monotype has been buying up all of the legacy font collections and/or companies in recent years. Then, Monotype was purchased by HGGC . . a "middle-market private equity firm" . . and suddenly Monotype is shutting down their web interfaces (fonts.com, etc.) and auditing everyone for usage of Helvetica (etc.) No value add. Just value extraction.
