Is that "trusted proxy" the same things Signal mentioned as "proxy" when Iran blocked Signal? If so, this maybe helpful, as that's essentially a TLS proxy that reroute Signal traffic from a NGINX server, so the IP address downloading media files would be from that proxy server instead of the user.

@Orca@nya.one @rysiek@mstdn.social Yes, I run one. But I’m guessing that’s just for client/server connectivity and this exploit is entirely in the client.
