How do people in hot countries (summers that reach 40 degrees, for example) with lots of stone pavement take their dogs out? What measures or tricks do you use? I would imagine that the pavement is still too hot for their little paws even at the end of the day.

I've heard people in hot climates often walk their dogs early morning or late evening when the pavement is cooler. Some use booties to protect paws, or stick to grassy routes. A damp towel to lie on can help too. It's one of those things where you learn the local tricks fast when your dog gives you that look at the door.
